AWARDED TOP HONORS AT NAB2005— Marantz PMD660 “hand-held” Compact Digital Recorder wins
Radio magazine Pick Hits award as well as Radio World’s “Cool Stuff” designation —ITASCA, IL, May 10, 2005 — D&M Professional, manufacturer of the renowned Marantz Professional PMD series of professional recording products, announces that its PMD660 Compact Digital Recorder earned great acclaim at this year’s NAB Convention. The Marantz PMD660 unit was awarded top honors by two leading industry publications, Radio magazine and Radio World newspaper.
The Radio magazine Pick Hits awards, which were instituted in 1985 to honor major technological innovations, recognized the PMD660 as a hands-down winner. Pick Hits judges look for the best new products introduced at the convention, and then gather to select the top 15. The judges act independently and anonymously, and the Radio magazine staff has no vote in the selection process.
The PMD660 won another prestigious technology honor, the “Cool Stuff” Award, presented by the editorial staff of Radio World newspaper. The Radio World “Cool Stuff” Award means a product was selected by a panel of engineers and industry journalists as notable for its design, features, cost efficiency and performance in serving radio users.
The Marantz PMD660 Compact Digital Recorder is a rugged, “hand-held” unit with easy one-touch digital recording using cost-effective Compact Flash media cards. Featuring solid-state design, the PMD660 has no moving parts, and is therefore more reliable than cassette, DAT, or other tape/disc formats. The PMD660 has stereo built-in condenser microphones with Automatic Level Control and is ideal for field recording applications.
