DENON PROFESSIONAL SHOWCASES
NEW DVD PLAYERS AND A/V RECEIVER AT NSCA

NSCA EXPO, ORLANDO, FL, March 10, 2005 — D&M Professional, the parent company of Denon Professional, has chosen the NSCA show to introduce the DN-V200/DN-V300 DVD Players and the AVR-985SP A/V Surround Receiver. Specifically designed for contractors and acoustic consultants, these new products further underscore Denon Professional’s ongoing commitment to the sound contracting/fixed installation market.

The DN-V200/DN-V300 DVD Players are equipped with advanced functions such as Hide OSD, Change Wallpaper, NTSC/PAL Conversion, Auto Play, and various Repeat modes. In an effort to provide contractors with superior performance and flexibility for their installations, the DN-V300 has Serial RS-232C remote capabilities, which in turn allows it to be controlled from industry leaders like AMX™, Crestron™ and other third party integrated control systems.

The DN-V200/DN-V300 DVD Players are equipped with a 96 kHz, 24-bit D/A converter for conversion of 24-bit data yielding enhanced audio performance, increased dynamic range and S/N ratio. The OSD and display icons that normally appear on the screen can be switched on and off, further extending the usage of a Kiosk terminal by removing unwanted screen displays for video playback or still pictures. Using the Change Wallpaper function, the image on the DVD wallpaper can be changed at the user’s discretion (JPEG format) allowing corporate logos, school emblems or other icons to appear on the screen after booting up or stopping the video during playback. An Auto Play setting allows the unit to start playback automatically, and each stage of setup and playback is conveniently memorized for next time usage even after the unit is turned off. For increased security, Key Lock and IR Remote Lock functions (via front panel or RS-232C) are provided to disable accidental operation of the DN-V200/DN-V300 DVD Players. Both units can play CD-R/RW media with MP3 or JPEG format material and a Progressive Scan function is also included. The DN-V200/DN-V300 DVD Players are standard 2U high, 19" rack mountable.

The AVR-985SP is the latest addition to Denon Professional’s extensive line of A/V receivers. Incorporating all current surround formats and enhanced installation flexibility, the feature-packed 7.1 channel receiver features 100 Watts x 7 power output, 32-bit floating point DSP processing to decode all current surround formats, 16 high-resolution D/A converters for all channels, 100 MHz-bandwith component video switching, extensive connectivity options and multi-room operation. Additionally the AVR-985SP has Serial RS-232C remote capabilities to support AMX™, Crestron™ and other third party integrated control systems.

The AVR-985SP also incorporates Denon Professional’s Auto Set-Up Calibration/Room EQ, featuring a microphone with heavy-duty base to suppress vibrations during room analysis. This function automatically analyzes (using 32-bit floating point DSP) and calibrates six critically important speaker settings; among these are speaker connection, phase, size and frequency response. It also adjusts channel level and time delay, while Room EQ corrects frequency response with an 8-band parametric equalizer and adjusts to the optimum sound field, compensating for speaker and room anomalies. Four Room EQ memories can be stored, while an Assignable Room EQ allows assignment of an EQ curve for each surround mode.

For contractors needing multi-zone operation, the AVR-985SP provides a full selection of connection and control options, including multi-room operation with independent control of a second-room audio system. The receiver has assignable digital inputs for full compatibility with multiple HDTV sources, numerous digital and analog audio and video inputs, outputs and switching facilities including an eight channel input for multi-channel audio sources. For unmatched simplicity of video connectivity and switching, the AVR-985SP includes video-up conversion that converts composite and/or S-video sources to component video without compromising video quality. Also included are IR remote in/out terminals for integrated system control, assignable 12V trigger controls, and assignable amplifier configuration for either 7.1-channel surround operation or 5.1 surround with amplified second zone, a high-quality AM/FM tuner with preset memory tuning, second zone speaker outputs with independent volume control, and much more.

Compatible with all popular Surround Sound formats, the AVR-985SP supports Dolby® Digital 6.1, DTS-ES Discrete, DTS-ES Matrix and DTS neo:6 Stereo-to-Surround Cinema and Music Modes. Additionally the AVR-985SP includes Dolby Pro Logic® II decoding, the first technology to offer users the choice of processing traditional stereo music and movie content into a room-filling 6.1- or 7.1-channel listening experience. Dolby Pro Logic II also allows the contractor to provide their customer a flexible upgrade path, allowing them to connect extra channels and speakers to their 5.1- or 6.1-channel systems in the future.

The AVR-985SP receiver utilizes 24-bit, 96 kHz audio D/A converters on all channels in a differential configuration with true 24/96 digital input capability. The 7-Channel Equal Power amplifier section incorporates a discrete power amplifier for each of its seven main channels and delivers 100 Watts (into 8 ohms, from 20 Hz – 20 kHz) into each channel. A flexible bass management system with various crossover points is provided for maximum performance in any listening environment.

The Denon Professional DN-V200/DN-V300 DVD Players and AVR-985SP A/V Surround Receiver are currently available with U.S. MSRPs as follows: DN-V200 — $449.99; DN-V300 — $649.99; and AVR-985SP — $1099.99.
