AUDIO-TECHNICA U.S. BROADENS NORTH AMERICAN SALES
WITH NEW CANADIAN DISTRIBUTOR
— Company appoints JAM/Erikson Audio to handle extensive range
of professional and consumer audio products —
STOW, OH, August 11, 2005 — Audio-Technica U.S., Inc.
has expanded its North American marketing and distribution efforts with
the appointment of JAM/Erikson Audio as its Canadian distributor. The
announcement was made by Marc Lee Shannon, Audio-Technica U.S., Inc.,
Vice President, Sales, and reflects the continued growth of the Audio-Technica
operation worldwide.
Effective September 1, 2005, JAM/Erikson Audio will be
responsible for the sales and distribution of Audio-Technica’s
extensive line of microphones, mixers, headphones and electronic accessories
to the burgeoning Canadian market. “We are very excited to be
distributing Audio-Technica,” says Jeff Carman, Erikson Audio
division manager. “With our experience in the mic business, we
hope to grow A-T’s presence in Canada. We feel we can offer the
Canadian dealer quicker delivery of product, better servicing, and increased
local sales and marketing.”
Founded in 1972, JAM Industries Ltd. began operating in
Montreal under the trade name of Erikson Music, and through the 1970s,
corporate Canada witnessed the rapid growth of this Quebec-based company.
Today, Jam Industries has consolidated its strengths into five main
divisions: Coast Music (music accessories); Erikson Music (musical instruments);
Erikson Pro (including pro lighting); Erikson Audio and Erikson Consumer
representing products to consumer electronic retailers.
Commenting on the appointment of JAM/Erikson Audio, Marc
