AUDIO-TECHNICA SUPPLIES JOHN LENNON EDUCATIONAL TOUR BUS WITH A FULL COMPLEMENT OF TOP-QUALITY MICROPHONES

— Continuing its U.S. tour, the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus pays a visit to
microphone manufacturer and official sponsor/equipment supplier Audio-Technica —

STOW, OH, June 16, 2005 — Audio-Technica, worldwide leader in high-performance microphones, wireless systems, headphones and other professional-caliber audio equipment, recently welcomed a visit from the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, a non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio and offshoot of the nine-year-old John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Audio-Technica is the official microphone provider of the Tour Bus. Between stops at Canton South High School in Ohio and the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Bus pulled into Audio-Technica’s Stow headquarters to thank the microphone manufacturer for its contributions to the success of the tour, offering an up-close look at the mobile studio facility to A-T employees and local press.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus travels around the U.S. year-round. Outfitted with traditional musical instruments as well as high-tech professional audio gear, the Bus has provided free hands-on programs since 1998 for hundreds of high schools, colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conventions and community organizations. Working together with some of the biggest names in music, the Lennon Bus provides free workshops for young people in which they learn to write songs, record them, engineer recording sessions and produce a music video — which they take home at the end of the day — using the latest audio, video and live sound equipment.

“We are proud to be a sponsor of the Lennon Educational Tour Bus, helping to open doors for young people across the country. It’s exciting to be a part of getting more people involved in making music,” said Gary Boss, Audio-Technica Marketing Director. A-T has supplied the Lennon Bus with a complete line of live, wireless and studio microphones, featuring models from the company’s acclaimed 40 Series, a host of Artist Elite mics, and many other professional audio essentials.

Brian Rothschild, Executive Director of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and Educational Tour Bus, observed, “Without the support of companies like Audio-Technica, the Bus could not tour the U.S. ten months out of the year, for the eighth consecutive year, introducing kids to music and encouraging them to write songs and play music.” The Lennon Bus is currently planning a trip to the Summer NAMM Session in Indianapolis, IN, and appearances on the upcoming Vans Warped Tour.
