AUDIO-TECHNICA HOLDS SEVENTH ANNUAL CHARITY SALE
— Company’s yearly charity fund-raising event
results in pledges to a number of worthy causes —
STOW, OH, March 4, 2004 — As part of its
ongoing support of charitable causes, Audio-Technica U.S., Inc. recently
held its seventh One-Day Charity Sale promotional event with proceeds
of over $20,000 going to non-profit organizations. The admirable charities
meriting donations included:
The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, dedicated
to working with the community to provide children with high-risk, life
threatening illnesses the opportunity to realize their most heartfelt
wish; The American Cancer Society, the largest non-government funded
organization for cancer research in the U.S.; Child Welfare League of
America (CWLA), an association of almost 1,200 public and private nonprofit
agencies that assist over 3.5 million abused and neglected children
and their families each year with a wide range of services; America’s
Second Harvest, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the
United States; MusiCares Foundation, established in 1989 by the National
Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Inc. with the objective of focusing
the attention and resources of the music industry on the health, human
service, and welfare needs of all music people; Haven of Rest Ministries,
a non-profit, non-denominational Christian social service organization
whose purpose is to serve and glorify God through a Christ-centered
outreach of love and compassion that responds to the physical, emotional,
and spiritual needs of disadvantaged men, women, and children without
regard to their race, color, creed, or social standing; and Nuestros
Pequenos Hermanos, A.C. (Mexico), which has cared for orphaned and abandoned
children in Central America since 1954.
Commenting on the One-Day Charity Sale, Audio-Technica
U.S. President/CEO Philip Cajka stated, “We are committed to supporting
these charitable organizations for all the great work they do. For the
seventh year in a row, the success of this event again surpassed our
