MC2 EXPANDS LIGHTWEIGHT E SERIES AMPLIFIERS
NSCA EXPO, ORLANDO, FL, March 10, 2005 —
Leading UK-based amplifier manufacturer MC2 Audio Ltd. has expanded
its lightweight (switchmode) E SERIES with the E45 power amplifier.
The addition of the E45 power amplifier further underscores MC2 Audio’s
ongoing commitment to providing high quality, high performance solutions
to the fixed installation and touring sound markets.
The E45 amplifier offers 2250W/channel into 4 ohms (3200W/channel
into 2 ohms; 1200W/channel into 8 ohms), weighs 24.25 lbs. (11 kg) and
measures 3.50 x 19.00 x 16.85" (88 x 482 x 428 mm). The E45 joins
the E15, rated at 750W/channel into 4 ohms and the E25, rated at 1250W/channel
into 4 ohms. All units are housed in a 2U chassis.
The E SERIES MC2 Audio amplifiers have an impressive feature

MC2 Audio Ltd. has been manufacturing technologically
innovative amplifiers of the highest quality for the pro audio market
for over 10 years and is an OEM supplier to two of the top studio monitor
manufacturers. Co-directors Terry Clarke and Ian McCarthy have combined
their extensive experience in the audio industry with a commitment to
promoting the highest standards of audio quality and reliability in
manufacture. Terry gained a worldwide reputation for design as co-founder
and Technical Director of Klark Teknik. Ian's early experience was in
the hi-fi side of the industry before moving into the manufacture of
public address equipment in 1979 and then into professional audio in
the early 1990s.
The story began in 1994 with the launch of the MC series
at AES in Amsterdam. The first two models, MC450 and MC650 were in full
production by September of that year and both amplifiers were received
enthusiastically, being among the first in the market to be digitally
controlled. The MC450 and MC650 were to set the very high standards
of sonic quality and reliability for which MC2 Audio has gained a worldwide
reputation, and which all products that followed would have to meet.
Two years later, in September 1996, the MC1250 made its
first appearance at PLASA, London and was greeted with much enthusiasm
by existing and new customers. Since that time, the MC1250 has enjoyed
particular interest from the discotheque and nightclub market, where
it has proved itself capable of maintaining its high performance levels
in the most demanding conditions.
The series was completed in October 1997 with the introduction
of the MC750, offering customers a choice of amplifiers with power from
450W/channel into 4 ohms RMS through to 1250W/channel into 4 ohms RMS.
The T Series made its debut at PLASA in September 2000
with the launch of the T500 (250W/channel into 4 ohms) and the T1000
(500W/channel into 4 ohms). PLASA 2001 saw the appearance of the T1500
(750W/channel into 4 ohms) and this was swiftly followed in March 2002
with the launch of the T2000 (1000W/channel into 4 ohms) at Pro Light
& Sound in Frankfurt. In response to demand from a number of customers,
the T LINE was introduced and also launched in Frankfurt that same year.
This 100V/70V/50V chassis is capable of taking up to four 250W/500W/750W
line transformers in any combination and is for use with the other models
in the T Series.
The last model to be developed in the T Series, the T4-250
quad amplifier (4 x 250W/channel into 4 ohms), made its debut at PLASA
2002 and completes this exciting range of amplifiers.
The long awaited E Series of lightweight, switchmode amplifiers
was first shown at Pro Light & Sound in March 2003. There was unqualified
praise for the ‘new-look’ front panel, and production of
the first two models — E25 (1250W/channel into 4 ohms) and E15
(750W/channel into 4 ohms) — was eagerly awaited by existing and
new customers alike. Production finally got under way towards the end
of 2003 and both the E25 and E15 are already enjoying buoyant sales
around the world.
Designed specifically for the touring market, the E Series
has all the sonic qualities and reliability of the MC and T Series amplifiers,
without the physical weight, and will bring the well renowned MC2 sound
quality and reliability to an even wider range of users.
Endorsement of the quality of the amplifiers is perhaps
best reflected by the fact that MC2 Audio has been an OEM supplier to
two of the world’s top studio monitor manufacturers for the past
eight years.
All MC2 Audio products carry a full 5-year warranty.
