CELESTION — 80 YEARS OF TONE

Press Release Text: Word DOC - RichTextFormat (RTF)

NAMM WINTER SESSION, ANAHEIM, CA, January 15 2004 — In 2004, Celestion celebrates its 80th anniversary year. With a recent move to new premises and an ever more comprehensive product range, the company continues to deliver premium quality loudspeakers for guitar and professional sound reinforcement.

Celestion began life in 1924 as a small company, designing and building loudspeakers for the burgeoning radio market. By the mid-1940s, the company was manufacturing more than half the loudspeakers in Britain.

During the late 1950s, Celestion introduced what is today one is the most famous guitar speakers of all time — the Celestion Blue. It was an immediate hit with many of the up and coming musicians around this period, players who went on to establish themselves as guitar icons.

As rock ‘n’ roll and popular music have evolved, so has Celestion’s product range, offering great tone for guitar players of all styles.

At Winter NAMM 2004, to celebrate its anniversary, Celestion is exhibiting some of its most famous guitar speakers that have helped shape the tone of rock ‘n’ roll, alongside a tribute to some of the finest guitarists that have ever played.
