— Company exhibits new industrial
designed wall-mount speaker,
the KR-S/ST, and an all-weather enclosure, the KR-WP —
115th AES CONVENTION, NEW YORK, NY, October 10, 2003
— Celestion is displaying its latest additions to
the acclaimed KR Series of contractors’ speakers —
the KR-S/ST and KR-WP. Designed for use in cafés/restaurants,
retail establishments, hotels, houses of worship, transportation
terminals, and public venues, the new KR-S/ST and KR-WP
provide contractors the hard-working, great-sounding tools
perfectly suited to a wide variety of installations.
The KR-S/ST wall-mount speaker is a two-way
system that employs a 4" low-frequency aluminum coated
polymer driver coupled with a .75" high-frequency aluminum
dome tweeter, which is able to deliver high quality music
or program material. With a power handling of 50 Watts,
the unit has a frequency response of 90Hz-22kHz, a sensitivity
of 88db(2.83dV/1m), and includes thermal PTC (6dB cut) protection.
The KR-S/ST has voltage taps at 100V, 70.7V, and 25V and
is suitable for use even in safety-critical environments.
To further enhance the unit’s versatility, transformer
power taps are provided at 30, 15, 8, 4, and 2W. In addition,
the KR-S/ST’s enclosure features an impressive industrial
design that can be used as an integral part of the facility’s
architecture. Available in Black, White or Silver, the KR-S
measures 8.3" x 4.7" x 5.9" and weighs 3.1lbs,
while the KR-ST measures 10.3" x 4.7" x 5.9"
and weighs 4.2lbs.
Celestion has also developed the new KR-WP
(weather proof) all-weather speaker enclosure, expertly
designed for use at either indoor or outdoor venues. The
Celestion KR-WP is a two-way speaker that features a 5.25"
bass driver and a 1” soft-dome high-frequency tweeter.
With power handling of up to 150 Watts, the KR-WP has a
frequency response of 65Hz-20kHz, crossover frequency at
3kHz and sensitivity of 91dB (2.83V/1m). The KR-WP measures
12" x 7.1" x 8", weighs 8.8lbs, and is available
in Pearl white.
Both units are extremely easy to install and
offer excellent acoustic performance.
