XTA DS800 ACTIVE SPLITTER BRINGS
FLEXIBILITY AND VERSATILITY
TO CHRIST TEMPLE CHURCH HUNTINGTON, WV
— A test run with the XTA DS800 self-contained audio distribution
system leads to the immediate purchase of six more, giving large new
worship facility the flexibility it needs to interface worship area,
recording studio, and video feeds —
FARMINGDALE, NY, June 10, 2003 — Christ
Temple Church in Huntington, West Virginia — a recently completed
1,100-seat church — is outfitted with a world-class audio distribution
system. The church’s implementation of the renowned XTA DS800
8-input/32-output active mic/line splitter has enabled it to flexibly
and easily reconfigure audio feeds from the stage to the house and monitor
desks, as well as its studio, and still feed remote video trucks or
any other media system. The Pro Sound Division of Harvest Gospel Studios,
also based in Huntington, designed the church’s sound system and
chose the XTA DS800 splitter system. The seven DS800 systems were sold
by North Coast Marketing of Erie, PA.
Christ Temple Church is an excellent example of the recent
trend in church design. Expanded worship areas are needed to serve constantly
growing congregations, while many have also specified top-tier sound
and other media systems to reflect and accommodate the increasing sophistication
of congregation membership.
“What’s remarkable about this particular church
is that the entire $6.8-million-dollar construction cost was raised
completely by the congregation, and the church moved into their new
worship facility totally debt-free,” explains Mark Hale, Owner
of Harvest Gospel Studios, which since 1981 has specialized in gospel
and sacred music recordings. In 1985 Harvest Gospel Studios opened its
Pro Sound Division, dedicated to designing both installed and touring
audio systems for worship markets. “Everything about the design
and construction of the new complex was topnotch, and they wanted that
philosophy to extend to the media systems as well. Christ Temple’s
commitment to excellence in every aspect of worship is so incredible.
The pastor and all the staff realize and appreciate the critical role
the sound reinforcement system plays in each service. With a ninety-two
voice choir and fourteen musicians on stage, every worship service is
actually a major concert.”
Harvest Gospel Studios was able to assure that the facility’s
audio distribution system would match that demand when it chose the
XTA DS800 splitter. “We had been looking at various analog splitter
systems when Keith Veshecco at North Coast suggested that if quality
and flexibility were the major concerns, we really needed to check out
the DS800,” says Hale. “North Coast had a unit shipped to
us, and it literally sold itself. We immediately ordered six more. The
sound quality is exceptional, but what we especially like about the
DS800 are some of its features, such as its ability to handle all the
phantom power management. With an excellent microphone preamp in each
channel, the whole system now runs at line level, giving us a vastly
improved signal-to-noise ratio and far less loss of signal over distance.
The flexibility of the DS800 means the system can grow to meet the church’s
needs in the future. The DS800 was the solution to what we were looking
for on all levels. We certainly plan on choosing it again in the future.”
