XTA CELEBRATES 10 YEARS OF
GREAT SOUND AND INDUSTRY SERVICE
— Research, technical support, quality engineering, and customer
service
form the solid foundation for 10 years’ worth of the finest digital
and analog
signal processing and control systems in the business —
FARMINGDALE, NY, June 27, 2002 — This year
marks the tenth anniversary of one of the professional audio industry’s
most notable success stories: XTA Electronics. The company was created
ten years ago this July with its initial product range of the RT1 Analyzer,
the DS400 Distribution System, and the GQ600 Graphic Equalizer. In the
decade since, XTA has grown into the world’s leading developer
and supplier of digital and analog signal processing and audio control
software for live and installed sound applications. XTA’s current
product line includes the acclaimed DP224 and DP226 Speaker Management
Systems; the DP100, DP200, DP202 Audio Processors; GQ600 Graphic Equalizers;
DS800 8 X 32 Active Mic/Line Splitter; and the recently introduced SiDD
(Seriously Intelligent Digital Dynamics) digital dynamics processor,
which has already become an industry standard. In fact, the name XTA
itself has become synonymous with the top of the line in all live and
installed sound situations — on the road, on Broadway, and everywhere
else reliable, quality audio is required.
Spurring on XTA’s first decade of success was the
development of the Audiocore DSP engine, which brought the DP100, DP200
and subsequently the DP224, DP226 and SiDD to the very forefront of
audio processing worldwide. Coupled with the company’s own powerful
PC control software, XTA quickly became a favorite of engineers and
sound companies worldwide. XTA founder Andrew Grayland, who began the
company in his spare bedroom, remembers XTA’s modest beginnings:
“We just wanted to produce designs that sounded as good as possible,
even if that meant a departure from what is accepted as the ‘right’
way of doing things,”
he comments. “Otherwise, we would never have moved the technology
as far forward as
we have.”
Core products, such as the DP200 and the DP226, have put
XTA on the map globally, both as the backbone of elaborate musical events
like the Glastonbury Festival and Jazz Fest in New Orleans, and accompanying
artists such as Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, and Roxy Music on world
tours. Since moving into a custom-designed development and manufacturing
facility last year, XTA’s business has continued to grow even
as its horizons expand. The new XTA Series 2 digital signal processors,
launched at this year’s NSCA Convention, have gathered much praise
for their powerful and accurate performance. “We are always looking
to bring the problem-solving power of our DSP algorithms to more audio
situations,” states Grayland. “The Series 2 has already
started doing this. Offering the professional audio industry ways around
the limitations and frustrations of the technology, with simple-to-operate,
great-sounding packages, as well as unwavering customer support, has
earned us a loyal and growing user base.”
Underscoring the celebration of this 10-year achievement,
Group One, Ltd., one of the foremost distributors of professional audio
and lighting system in North America, has renewed its commitment as
the exclusive distributor for the XTA product line in North America.
Jack Kelly, President of Group One — which is also celebrating
its own 10-year anniversary this year — notes, “We’re
very pleased to have had a part in building XTA’s strong presence
in the U.S. market. We look forward to many more years to come of a
successful professional partnership with XTA and its remarkable product
line.”
